Frequently asked questions
What is SSCO?
SSCO is short for Stockholms studentkårers centralorganiastion, or the Stockholm Student Union Central Organisation, and is a member organisation for student unions in the Stockholm region. Through the approximately 40 member unions SSCO represent over 90,000 students.
How do I become a member of SSCO?
As an individual student you cannot become a member of SSCO. Instead, you become a member of the SSCO-affiliated student union which exists at your university/college (sometimes there are more than one, see our list of members for further information). To become a member of a student union you first need to be registered at the university/college where the union is active and then contact the union.
Can I join SSCO without being a member of a student union?
No, individuals cannot become members of SSCO.
WHY DO I NOT SHOW UP AS AN ACTIVE MEMBER IN SSSB'S REGISTER?
It is always the responsibility of your union to make sure that you are registered as a member of the student union at your university/college and you should always turn to your union to ensure that your membership has been registered. SSCO cannot register union members in the system or check whether you as a union member are registered.
How to I get in touch with the Housing Committee?
The Housing Committee is run separately from SSCO. The staff at the chancellery cannot answer questions concerning anything to do with the Housing Committee.
If you have general questions regarding the Housing Committee you can email to their contact person at housingcommittee@ssco.se If you want to send in an application or appeal you will find the addresses here.
